I love engaging with things I never would have sought out myself, so randomized playlists and curated selections of things are very much my jam. The Sample sends you a different newsletter each day so you can taste-test a bunch and subscribe to the ones you like.
(Sponsorships allow me to produce this missive and send it out to everyone for free—so a big thanks to the sponsors, and if you’re keen to sponsor an issue of AG please respond for details) :)
Credentials
Resumes and CVs are fascinating to me, as much for what they represent and say as for what they fail to demonstrate and accomplish.
I’ve had reason to cobble together a few resumes over the past decade-plus, and it’s always been a somewhat comedic experience because little of what I’ve done since 2009 fits cleanly into the expected format.
I know quite a few other people who have the same issue: the credential-filters used in some industries leave out many potentially valuable applicants, but they’ve typically been considered necessary as a means of sorting professional wheat from chaff for so long, the idea of doing away with them has become borderline sacrilege.
