Abstract
The illocutionary frame of didactism is one of the conceptual foundations of the verbal behavior of an investigator in both Russian and English legal discourse. This is especially clearly presented in artistic detective stories, in which the idea of the functions and purpose of investigators, or detectives, in a particular linguoculture is most directly realized. The extensive corpus of the studied material allows us to conclude that the illocutionary frame of DIDAKTISM is more represented in the speech behavior of Russian investigators and detectives (22%, as opposed to 9% of pedagogical statements in the speech of English detectives). This prevalence of DIDACTISM in Russian fiction detective discourse can be explained by the fact that in Russia (and earlier in the USSR) this component of the professional activity of an investigator is emphasized both in the process of studying jurisprudence at a university and in the regulatory documents of law enforcement agencies, which is less represented in Great Britain.
The pedagogical influence of the investigator on the person under investigation is twofold. On the one hand, through his speech behavior of an educational nature, the investigator implements one of the main functions of justice – the re-education of a citizen who has committed an unlawful act, to understand its perniciousness and return to a law-abiding lifestyle. On the other hand, educational intentions are aimed at arousing in the suspect "remorse" and encouraging him to admit his guilt. Among the slots of the illocutionary frame of DIDACTISM in both Russian and English detectives, ETHICS, GENERALIZATION, EXPLANATION AND TEACHING prevail. The predominant slot in Russian detective stories is ETHICS, which allows one of the main dominants of the speech behavior of Russian investigators and detectives to determine the suggestion to the person under investigation – to follow the norms of behavior and morality accepted in society. At the same time, the pedagogical influence of English detectives during interrogations is carried out in most cases by means of GENERALIZATIONS, i.e. with the help of directly observed or experienced social phenomena and processes, convince the person under investigation to recognize that he has committed a criminal act and / or to realize its harmfulness to society.
