Podcaster, writer, and editor, Nigel Warburton discusses Public Philosophy
A chance to discuss what public philosophy is, why it matters, and how best to do it.
Nigel Warburton is the main interviewer for the very popular Philosophy Bites podcast which he makes with David Edmonds and which has had more than 42 million episode downloads. He is the author of the bestselling A Little History of Philosophy and many other popular philosophy books, has a weekly column in The New European newspaper, and has written for a wide range of newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, The Independent, Prospect Magazine, The Times Literary Supplement, The Economist, The New Philosopher, The Spectator, and Aeon (for which he is a consultant Senior Editor, focussing on Philosophy). He has also presented and contributed to a number of BBC radio programmes.
In this salon we will be asking …
- What is public philosophy?
- Need it involve simplification?
- Why is it important?
- What makes for good written and spoken public philosophy?
